Help us celebrate a brand new chapter for Sutton Coldfield Library

As you may have have seen in the latest edition of the Sutton Observer (17.05.13), the library has now reopened in the centre of Sutton. They are planning a week of special activities throughout half term culminating in “a grand opening ceremony” on Saturday 1st June.

They are looking for help and support from forum members in a couple of ways:

Hosting workshops and activities throughout half term

They’re putting together a schedule of workshops and activities throughout the half term week from Tuesday 28th May - Saturday 1st June with sessions running in hourly slots from 9am-5pm everyday. If you’re able to host a workshop or activities of any kind during this period please do get in touch – I know they’ll really appreciate it.

Help us create a party atmosphere on Saturday 1st June

Subject to permission from the Red Rose Centre (currently being chased) they’d like to create somewhat of a party atmosphere in the square outside the library – music, dance, drama… all ideas welcome! I know some members of the forum such as the Four Oaks Cluster choir are already involved, but if you’re up for joining in the fun please do let us know. As mentioned this is still subject to approval, although Wilko’s and the Yamaha music shop have already pledged their support!
